Teaching Assistant - Newport
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll support teachers in creating fun, inclusive, and engaging lessons. You’ll work flexibly across different schools - primary, secondary, or SEN - depending on your skills and preferences. Main Duties:
Help with classroom activities and behaviour management.
Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups, including those with additional needs.
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Help set up and tidy classroom resources.
Supervise pupils during breaks and transitions.
Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people (school or youth setting preferred).
A calm, caring, and professional attitude.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
Flexibility to travel to the schools we support.
Desirable:
A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning).
Experience with SEN or behaviour support.
Access to your own transport (helpful but not essential).
