Teaching Assistant - Cornwall
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll support teachers in creating fun, inclusive, and engaging lessons. You’ll work flexibly across different schools - primary, secondary, or SEN - depending on your skills and preferences.
Main Duties:
Help with classroom activities and behaviour management.
Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups, including those with additional needs.
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Help set up and tidy classroom resources.
Supervise pupils during breaks and transitions.
Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people (school or youth setting preferred).
A calm, caring, and professional attitude.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
Flexibility to travel to schools in Newport and the surrounding areas.
Desirable:
A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning).
Experience with SEN or behaviour support.
Access to your own transport (helpful but not essential).
